URGENT APPEAL
We are forced to ask for urgent help.
Because of the recent blocking of our bank account and the resulting inability to carry out normal activities, our organisation has been placed in an extremely difficult financial situation. As a result, we were temporarily unable to pay the rent and utilities for the shelter and office that we operate in Vilnius.
We have now received an official notice from the landlord stating that the accumulated debt for rent and utilities has reached €5,249.54 and must be paid immediately.
This space is not just an office.
It is a shelter and working space for people fleeing repression — including Belarusian conscientious objectors, refugees, and human rights defenders. People who have already lost their homes and safety depend on this place.
If we cannot urgently cover this debt, the contract may be terminated and people may be forced to leave the premises. That would mean that individuals who escaped persecution could literally end up on the street.
This situation is a direct consequence of financial restrictions and account blockages that have prevented us from operating normally and paying essential expenses.
Right now we urgently need to raise €5,249.54 to cover overdue rent and utilities and keep the shelter and office open.
Every contribution matters. Any donation — large or small — will help us keep a roof over the heads of people who have already lost almost everything.
If we raise more than the required amount, the funds will be used exclusively to stabilise future rent and utility payments so that this shelter can continue operating in the coming months.
Please help us keep this place open.
