What we want to do
This winter, we want to give 75 refugee children from Belarus, Ukraine, and Russia — now living in Lithuania — a true New Year celebration.

These children escaped repression and war with their parents. Many have lost their homes, friends, and sense of safety. Their families live in exile, often without resources to celebrate. For these children, the New Year is not only a holiday — it is a symbol of belonging, care, and hope.

We want to give each of them a personal gift worth €100 — not only sweets or small toys, but a meaningful, high-quality present that restores dignity and joy. For some, it may be warm winter clothes; for others, an art set, books, or a long-desired item they have never had the chance to receive.

Alongside the gifts, we will organise a large New Year celebration in Vilnius — with games, storytelling, music, magic, and a festive meal.

Budget goal: €10,000

Cost breakdown:

  • 75 personal New Year gifts (€100 each): €7,500
  • Preparation and celebration team (3 facilitators × €100/day × 5 days): €1,500
  • Rent and utilities for the Our House hall: €500
  • Transport, delivery of gifts, decorations, and logistics: €500

Total: €10,000

How it will happen
The celebration will take place in the Our House space in Vilnius and will include smaller group sessions of 15 children each, so that every child receives personal attention. Each group will have its own themed programme — creative workshops, a short theatre performance, music, and gift-giving.

If we raise more
If donations exceed the goal, we will extend the celebration to more children from newly arrived refugee families or organise follow-up Winter Peace Days for those most in need of continued support.

Why it matters
A real gift, chosen with care, tells a child in exile: you are not forgotten. It restores joy, warmth, and a sense of worth. After years of fear, every smile becomes an act of healing.
