A partner of «Our House» labeled extremist in Belarus

Social Media Of International Human Rights Organization labeled «Extremist» In Belarus
Belarus’s Information Ministry has updated the “Republican List of Extremist Materials“. Among other items, it now includes pages on Instagram, X and Facebook of the International Society for Human Rights (Internationale Gesellschaft für Menschenrechte / IGFM). The corresponding decision was made on 10 March by the court of the Horki district.

IGFM is an international non-governmental non-profit human rights organization founded in West Germany in 1972. It has participatory status with the Council of Europe and is a member of the Conference of International Non-Governmental Organisations of the Council of Europe.
The list of Belarus’s Information Ministry also now includes the TikTok pages «byaroza_info» and «gomelnovosti33», as well as the Telegram channel «Marginez».
Belarusian authorities regularly use accusations of extremism to target political opponents and dissent in general.
The social media accounts of “Our House” and Olga Karach have appeared on this list since May 2021 and are mentioned there at least 19 times. In addition, several social media accounts of campaigns initiated by Our House are also listed; these campaigns now operate independently and in parallel with our organization.
On what grounds do the Belarusian authorities include entities in this list? Apparently, for any contact with our organization. At least, IGFM has a long history of cooperation with us.
